Sponsoring spouse/CP/dependents

If you are a citizen or permanent resident, you can sponsor your spouse or common-law-partner and dependent children (of either your children or your partner’s children). You should be able to financially support them and make sure they don’t need any social assistance from government and the sponsor is also not receiving social assistance for reasons other than disability. In most cases, there is no income requirement to sponsor your spouse or partner or dependent child. You can also apply for permanent residence inside or outside Canada. Please contact us if you want us to represent your application for sponsoring your spouse or common-law-partner or conjugal partner and/or dependent children.

Sponsoring parents/grand parents

Canadian citizens and permanent residents can sponsor their parents and grand parents as permanent residents in Canada. The first step to sponsor your parents or grandparents is filling out the interest to sponsor form. The interest to sponsor forms will be over in a specific period of time and after the form closes, RCIC review submissions and randomly select and invite potential sponsors to apply to sponsor their parents and grandparents. In 2019, the cap was 10,000 applications and in 2021, RCIC will open the interest to sponsor form again to accept 30,000 new applications. After you receive the invitation, you must apply to become a sponsor and subsequently your parents or grandparents must apply for permanent residence. You can send both the sponsorship and the permanent residence applications together at the same time. There is 60 days to submit the application from the date of your invitation. Please contact us if you want us to represent your application for sponsoring your parents. We will help you all the way from assessing your eligibility to sponsor, representing you in the invitation to apply and subsequent sponsorship and permanent residence application.

Sponsoring relatives

As a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or registered Indian, you may sponsor your minor (under 18 years of age) orphaned brother, sister, nephew, niece or grandchild if they’re related to you by blood or adoption if both their mother and father passed away and they’re single (not married or in a common-law or conjugal relationship). As a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or registered Indian, you may also sponsor one other relative, related by blood or adoption, of any age, if you don’t have a close living relative you could sponsor instead (such as a spouse, partner, child, orphaned sibling, parent or grandparent) and you don’t have any other relative who is a citizen, permanent resident or registered Indian of Canada. Please contact us or schedule a meeting with us if you would like to discuss your unique situation with us so we can give you best advise as to whether you would be eligible to sponsor your relatives. As an authorized consultant, we can represent you in your application for sponsorship.
